Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukerji won the Best Actors Awards in IIFA 2024

 

The 2024 IIFA Awards were held in Abu Dhabi, bringing together Bollywood’s biggest stars to showcase their talents and light up the stage. One of the main highlights of the evening was Shah Rukh Khan hosting the event, joined by Karan Johar and Vicky Kaushal, adding even more star power to the celebration.

1. Best Film – Animal by Sandeep Reddy Vanga

Animal by Sandeep Reddy Vanga wins the IIFA Award for Best Film!

About Film – A wealthy industrialist’s son returns to India, only to find himself on a path of transformation. Driven by a thirst for vengeance, he becomes obsessed with protecting his father from those who threaten his life.

2. Best Director – Vidhu Vinod Chopra for Film 12th Fail

Vidhu Vinod Chopra wins the IIFA Award for Best Director for 12th Fail.

3. Best Actress – Rani Mukerji for the Film Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway

Rani Mukerji wins the Best Actor award for her performance in a leading role (Female) for her in Mrs. Chatterjee vs. Norway.

About Film – Debika Chatterjee, an Indian woman residing in Norway with her family, battles to regain custody of her children after they are taken from her by Norwegian authorities.

4. Best Actor – Shah Rukh Khan for Film Jawan

The King Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, wins the Best Actor at IIFA Award 2024 for performance in the leading role (male) for Jawan.

Shah Rukh Khan, commonly referred to as SRK, is an Indian actor and film producer known for his work in Hindi cinema. Often dubbed the “Baadshah of Bollywood” and “King Khan” by the media, he has starred in over 100 films and has received numerous accolades, including 14 Filmfare Awards.

About Film – Motivated by a personal vendetta to right societal wrongs and honor a promise made long ago, a man faces off against a fearsome outlaw who has inflicted tremendous suffering on countless victims.

5. Best Actor in Negative Role – Bobby Deol for Film Animal

6. Best Supporting Actor – Anil Kapoor for Film Animal

7. Best Supporting Actress – Shabana Azmi for Film Rocky Rani

Shabana Azmi receives the IIFA 2024 trophy for her path-breaking role in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani in the category of Performance in a Supporting Role (Female).

About Film – Despite their differences, the flamboyant Punjabi Rocky and the intellectual Bengali journalist Rani find love. Confronted with family opposition, they choose to live with each other’s relatives for three months before tying the knot.

8. Best Singer Female – Shilpa Rao for Song Chaleya ( Film – Jawan )

Shilpa Rao, the Queen of Hearts, wins the NEXA IIFA Award 2024 for Best Playback Singer (Female).

About – Shilpa Rao is an Indian singer known for her work in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil music. While in college, she was allowed to record the song “Tose Naina” from the film Anwar by composer Mithoon, marking her debut in Hindi music.

9. Best Singer Male – Bhupinder Babbal for Song Arjan Valley ( Film – Animal )

Bhupinder Babbal wins Best Male Singer for Arjan Valley at the IIFA Awards for Animal.

10. Best Music – Animal 

Pritam, Vishal Mishra, Manan Bhardwaj, Shreyas Puranik, Jaani, Bhupinder Babbal, Ashim Kemson, and Harshavardhan Rameshwar won the IIFA Award 2024 for Music Direction.

11. Best Lyrics – Siddharth -Garima for Song  Satranga ( Film – Animal )

Siddharth Singh and Garima Wahal won the IIFA Award 2024 for the beautiful lyrics of the song Satranga from the movie Animal.

12. Achievement on Completing 25 years in Cinema – Karan Johar

After redefining the romantic genre like no other, the iconic director Karan Johar is honored at the IIFA Awards 2024 for his remarkable 25-year journey in the industry.

About – Karan Kumar Johar, commonly known as KJo, is an Indian film director, producer, and television personality primarily active in Hindi cinema. Through his company, Dharma Productions, he has launched the careers of numerous successful actors and filmmakers.

13. Debutant of the Year Award ( Female ) – Alizeh Agnihotri

14. Best Story ( adopted ) – 12th Fail

The inspiring filmmaking and remarkable impact of 12th Fail are recognized as Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Ayush Saxena, Vikas DivyaKirti, and Jaskunwar Kohli are honored with the IIFA 2024 Award for Best Story (Adapted).

15. Outstanding Contribution to Indian Cinema – Jayantilal Gada, Hema Malini

About Hema Malini – Hema Malini Dharmendra Deol is an Indian actress, director, producer, and politician. She has been serving as a member of the Lok Sabha for the Bharatiya Janata Party, representing the Mathura constituency since 2014.

Jayantilal Gada and Hema Malini are honored with the IIFA Award for Outstanding Contribution to Indian Cinema.

About Jayantilal Gada – Jayantilal Gada is an Indian film producer and distributor who entered the film production industry through his company, Popular Entertainment Network India Ltd. He is recognized for producing the 2013 Hindi-language film *Mahabharat*, which won the award for Best Animation Film at the 3rd Fiji Film Festival.

16. Best Story – Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani

Ishita Moitra, Shashank Khaitan, and Sumit Roy won the NEXA IIFA Award 2024 for Best Story (Original) for their remarkable work in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.

About Film – Despite their differences, the flamboyant Punjabi Rocky and the intellectual Bengali journalist Rani find love. Confronted with family opposition, they choose to live with each other’s relatives for three months before tying the knot.

 

But Audienece was disappointed with the Best Story and Best Film Category Awards for Rocky Aur Rani ki Prem Kahani and Animal.
